This year our new CTE Building was under construction, and we were working out of a regular classroom in the English hallway. Despite the struggles of having no real workshop, and having to set our machines or equipment up either in the hallway or outdoors in the commons area, we were able to improvise, working extensively to set our team up for a winning season
Sweeny Robotics was able to compete in the FIRST robotics competition at Channelview, which we envisioned as the first of many. Unfortunately, the rise and progression of the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the remainder of our 2020 robotics season.

The Game
What was Infinite Recharge?
Teams competed by gathering and launching Power Cells into the Shield Generator's scoring zones, with an emphasis on maximizing points in both the autonomous and teleoperated phases. The Control Panel element, requiring teams to spin the color wheel for additional points, was also retained. During the endgame, robots climbed the Generator Switch and attempted to balance it for extra points.
Power Cells: Teams collected and launched Power Cells into the Shield Generator's scoring zones, earning points for accurate shots in both the autonomous and teleoperated phases.
Control Panel: Teams spun or positioned the color wheel to unlock Shield Generator stages and earn additional points.
Endgame: Robots climbed the Generator Switch in the Rendezvous Point and attempted to balance it for extra points, rewarding precision and teamwork.
The game emphasized accuracy, versatility, and strategic coordination, requiring teams to design and operate robots capable of excelling in multiple roles on the field.
Our Robot
This years robot was much more advanced than the year before and we were able to multitask with the aspects of defense and offense every so often. This robot had building structure so complex yet so innovative that caught the eyes of many spectators in our second year bringing much more surprises.
