Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Events

FLOATCHELLA- AUGUST, 2022

Join us and donate to FLOATCHELLA, a paddle-crafts only rally on the Mystic River featuring live entertainment on the floating stage just North of the drawbridge.

Attendees and passersby are asked to donate to the event from 3 launch sites and on the Mystic Drawbridge. All money raised will go to funding the efforts of the Downtown Mystic Merchants and the GMCC in promoting Mystic, continuing beloved community events like: the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival and Pirate Invasion, and supporting our local businesses.

Street Scene from Mystic Outdoor Art Festival

The oldest festival of its kind in the Northeast, the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival attracts more than 85,000 people to our region during this two day event. This festival showcases more than 100,000 diverse pieces of fine art spread out over two miles in the heart of Historic Downtown Mystic. The event is free of charge to the public. There are activities for all ages, including a Children’s Art Park.

GROTON CITY BREW RUN - September 10, 2022

Groton Utilities and The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce present the 2nd Annual Groton City Brew Run at Eastern Point Beach, Groton. Gather friends, family and your running buddies for a fun 5K run followed by a Brewfest, concert and an array of food trucks.

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Westerly-Pawcatuck Downtown Business Association presents Mystic Burger Week and Dine Out Downtown 2022. Over the last three years, Mystic has become a true stop for the serious food connoisseur. During that time, Westerly and Pawcatuck have also upped their restaurant game and Restaurant Week is a perfect opportunity to show off the goods. This Restaurant Week will have participants feature their favorite burger. Now this does not have to be 2 buns as it can be burger pizza, salad, taco, etc.

Patrons who dine-in or take-out from participating restaurants, for any meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) can enter to win prizes donated by the member businesses of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and Westerly-Pawcatuck DBA. In addition, prizes will also include gift certificates from participating restaurants.

The Mystic Chamber is committed to promoting business and community and that could not be better defined than this partnership.

Santa Waving to the Crowd from his Tugboat

Santa Claus is coming to town and so is Mystic’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade in Historic Downtown Mystic. Thousands gather at the Mystic River Park to watch Santa arrive on a 60’ tug boat, the John Paul, and to listen to the wishes of children. After a brief break, festivities in the Park resume with the lighting of the Christmas tree and thousands of spectators then flood both sides of the Mystic River to see the decorated ships pass by. These holiday events have become beloved traditions in Mystic over the years-- don’t miss out on being part of the festivities by sponsoring our candy canes, parade and more!

PARTY OF 12, GMCC COMMUNITY & TOURISM AWARDS - DECEMBER , 2022

The Chamber is excited to bring back what many considered the best year end party we have had in quite some time. Party of 12, held at the Velvet Mill, was the event of 2019 and after taking a break in 2020, is back for 2021. Planned for December 2, the committee is again working to bring delicious food from the best local restaurants together with music, cocktails and your friends. The festivities will start at 5pm with a short but important awards ceremony. The 2019 and 2020 Joyce Resnikoff Tourism Award will be given to Steve Coan and Stefan Ambrosch and we will be premiering two new awards, the 15 over 50 Mystic Ballast Award and the Mystic Keel Award. Event information, the link to purchase tickets and nominating forms can be found at www.mysticchamber.org.
