Not because you shouldn’t.

Because you can’t.

To be in a calm and relaxed state more of the time would be a welcome and healthful adjustment for many of us.

But you can’t try to relax.

It’s physiologically impossible. It will only lead to failure and frustration.

And the harder you try, the harder you’ll fail.

Let me explain.

The New London HarborCam, a project of the New London Maritime Society, was lost in a windstorm on Presidents Day weekend.

The camera was attached to the 189-year-old wooden flagpole atop the Custom House Maritime Museum in July 2019 -- installed just in time to catch the SailFest fireworks! Since then, NL HarborCam has broadcast a livestream panorama of New London Harbor 24/7. In just 2 1/2 years over 2.7 million viewers have taken advantage of the view! When the 40' flagpole fell off the roof early Friday morning so did the camera! We are asking for contributions via a $3,000 Go Fund Me campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/f/restore-nl-harborcam. Donations are essential to replace this enormously popular eye on the harbor as the museum has been closed intermittently due to COVID-19.

The past few pandemic years have upended so much of the real estate market. Prices spiked, while inventory plunged. Buyers found themselves competing against other buyers for homes, and some — wisely or foolishly, time will tell — opted to waive their rights to a home inspection in the interest of endearing the seller. But a home inspection is a critical part of the homebuying process that is intended to reveal potential problems with a house or its systems, allowing buyers to make informed decisions about the current value of the home and whether it's a smart investment for them.
