Cycling to college is a great way to keep fit and avoid public transport. City of Glasgow College is committed to the promotion of active travel.
If you live within cycling distance, you can safely store your bike on campus. At City Campus, we have an indoor cycle store that accommodates 268 bikes. At Riverside, we have bike racks for 200 bikes. Both are monitored by CCTV and both buildings have changing, showering, and locker facilities available to all staff and students. We can provide gold-standard D-locks if you have forgotten yours and at City Campus, we have a full maintenance and repair kit and drying cabinets which are free to use. Our College campuses are both well serviced by public transport. If you’re travelling by bus or train, you can find out about services from the Traveline Scotland website.
Both City and Riverside campuses are close to local bus and rail links. For information on travelling to the campuses please visit Traveline Scotland. Most bus and rail operators will have student discounts, so make sure you always carry your student card to make the most of discounted rates.
Free bus travel for under 22s
All young people and children aged 5-21 years can apply for a card to access the Young Persons’ (Under 22s) Free Bus Travel Scheme. You will need a National Entitlement Card (NEC) or Young Scot NEC with the valid free travel entitlement with you whenever you want to take the bus - otherwise you’ll have to pay for your trip.
Find out more and apply on the transport Scotland website.
Disabled drivers
We have no parking available for students at our Campuses; however, there are ten accessible spaces close to the Allan Glen's Place entrance at City, and four at Riverside. These spaces are only for disabled drivers with blue badges and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. If all of the accessible spaces are taken, Blue Badge holders can also park using the on-street parking bays near the campuses. Remember to display your Blue Badge.
Other drivers
Our campuses are located in residential areas where residents have private parking spaces. Please respect our neighbours in the Townhead and Gorbals areas and do not park in their spaces. In addition to commercial car parks across the City, there are a number of pay and display parking bays near to City Campus. Glasgow City Council provide information on parking on their website. Local commercial car parks include:
