The College's mode of educational delivery is shaped by our Student Academic Experience Strategy and through our approach to Blended Learning.
The City of Glasgow student can be confident of an engaging, inclusive and excellent experience with opportunities to develop life skills and to build relationships that foster a sense of belonging. Our City Student will develop and progress to confidently take those next steps into industry, work, or further study. Every student will have a City of Glasgow College digital portfolio to evidence the wider generic attributes they have gained.
We will review and enhance the Student Journey to optimise the integration of digital systems, to achieve efficiencies and timelines of information and support – all designed to ensure a seamless experience from application to graduation.
The City of Glasgow College (COGC) uses a blended learning approach, combining online resources and traditional classroom instruction. Students access study materials, including workbooks, videos, and e-learning modules, through the college's Virtual Learning Environment called Canvas, alongside access to library e-books.
This approach allows students to benefit from both face-to-face and online activities. It includes activities like attending lectures in person and completing assignments online, providing a balanced and comprehensive learning experience. Both blended and online learning methods are designed to enhance accessibility and cater to different learning styles, making education more adaptable to individual needs.

City Attributes are a set of essential skills we want all our students to develop, so they are well-prepared for work or higher education. At City of Glasgow College, students gain more than just qualifications and technical skills. You'll also develop soft skills, interpersonal abilities, career management skills, and other qualities that reflect the City of Glasgow College experience. These skills are valued by employers and will help you succeed in higher education.
City of Glasgow College is dedicated to maintaining academic integrity in all our educational activities. We have joined other UK universities and colleges in a commitment to uphold and promote academic integrity. This involves pledging to adhere to the core values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility in our work. We also expect our students to embrace these values in their studies and to properly credit the work or ideas of others when used as references.
Academic misconduct is a serious issue that impacts you, the reputation of our College, and the entire educational sector. It can take many forms, including the use of essay and degree mills, plagiarism, collusion between students, and the use of forged or altered qualification certificates.
