What is a "Snack and Chat"?

A "Snack and Chat" is a time and place where you can sit and talk about books that you have read, give and get recommendations for new books to read, complete a fun activity, and have some snacks!  For Cowboys Read!, we will have monthly Snack and Chats, with the hope that we have additional bookish events throughout the year.  

Come and visit us in the courtyard around the first of the month, and tell us what you are reading!

We made Valentine's Day cards and had a visit from the teen librarian at the San Antonio Public Library!

This month's titles focused on love, so we wanted to share some love with all of our libraries!

Make a bookmark for your newest read!  

We have a great selection of titles this month, and we made bookmarks for them!  

We had a lot of visitors, but they joined in and made a bookmark, too!

Show some spirit, Cowboys!!  

We brought back the Spirit Shakers one more time so everyone would have the chance to make some NOISE at the pep rally and the Frontier Bowl.

Who knew spiders could be so much fun?  We made spiderbots with small batteries and vibrating motors -- they wiggle along and creep over things.  We also had coloring pages and snacks available for everyone who sat and visited, along with all of our spooky October titles.

We had a great time learning how to make a flashlight out of a popsicle stick and an LED!  There was also plenty of coloring, snacking, and chatting going on, too!  It was a wonderful (but hot!) day in the McCollum courtyard!
