Amy's Induction Ceremony
Amy (Anderson) Williams was a member of the GFC swimming and track teams. She lettered in swimming 6 times from 7th grade through her senior year. Amy was the State Champion 3 consecutive years 2000-2002 in the 100 Meter breaststroke. She also had 2 third place finishes at the state meet, one in the 200 Meter breaststroke and the other in the 100 Meter breaststroke. Amy was selected to the All EDC and All State Team from 2000-2004. Her 2002 time in the 100 Meter breaststroke of 1:07.19 is still the GFC school record.
Coach Walls stated that he is extremely proud of Amy’s accomplishments in the pool. She was also an incredible leader, extremely hard worker, and a great mentor and role model to the younger members of the team.
Amy’s answer to what sets GFC apart from other schools was that we were a very tight group, like a family. We all swam together for years and one another’s success felt like your own. She mentioned her coaches, Coach Walls in particular, pushed us beyond our potential and to compete at a high level.
Her favorite memory from her time at GFC is the lifelong friendships she made at Central and through swimming. I am still in touch with them today. Amy said she had a great time during her years at Central. She stated that she learned what hard work meant and it set her up for success in college and beyond.
Amy currently lives in Pleasant Hill, CA. She is married to a wonderful man and has two great children. and is the CFO at a General Contractor in San Francisco, CA.
