Personal Interests and skills: My personal interest would be playing sport and just being outside in general among nature and the fresh air. The sports that I play are netball, volleyball and cricket. I really enjoy science and math in school and am generally really curious about the world. I like space and astronomy and in my spare time, I like to shoot netball hoops, go for a bike ride and do some therapeutic colouring.
Role: Communications Lead
Personal Interests and skills:
I can text code, play guitar, a little of piano, and I've also dabbled in flute and tin whistle. I'm interested in physics and astrophysics, and I really like reading and I do a little bit of narrative writing in my free time. My strengths are: honesty, appreciation of beauty and excellence, love of learning, creativity, and curiosity.
Roles: Technology director
Personal Interests and skills:
Some of my personal interests would be things such as music, sport, art, and debating/public speaking. I play the flute, piano, guitar, and saxophone and music has always been a part of my life. I also play tennis and netball competitively but want to start playing social volleyball at the end of this year. Some of my skills would probably be drawing (making work look good and choosing nice color schemes) I also thoroughly enjoy public speaking and this could also be another one of my skills. At school, I love to do experiments in science, pieces of writing in English and learn about all sorts of things in Social Studies. I love going to the beach and also love to read a range of books in my spare time.
Roles: Design and creative director
Our Team Work in this project
We faced many challenges throughout this project. These challenges really tested our Team Work but as famously said "Anything can be conquered when working together." we were motivated to keep going and fight through like an army and not like a lost soldier. Even Covid couldn't stop us from working together and creating a creative and innovative solution for the unawareness of invisible disabilities. As a small team of three, we have all worked well to create a project that each of us has been able to contribute to. Our team has had many road bumps, including lockdown, internet issues, and even one of our teammates moving to another school. These challenges have helped us get stronger as a bunch of young individuals and has brought our friendship to another level. We have gotten to know each other a lot more and our individuality and talents brought together have helped create an amazing project and even blow ourselves away. The major barrier of lockdown really made it difficult to communicate and effectively work together. However, our communications manager, Shreeji, made sure everything was organised and that we were having our weekly meetings as well as updating the blog and keeping the teachers informed and updated. As most of our work was done during lockdown we are extremely proud of the work that we have produced and our ability from the guidance of our teachers to adapt to the new learning environment and get the work done. Another challenge that we faced was internet issues. A team member within our group happened to be moving houses and wasn't able to contribute much towards the finishing product, however, with her help and planning from the start of the project we were able to finish strong. And lastly another major road bump we experience at the start of our community projects journey was one of our teammates, Helena, leaving the school, hence also leaving our community project group. For our team, this was extremely sad as well as stressful as we had to cover for her work more effectively as a small group of 3. Overall, many road bumps were faced and conquered. This unity and the effort that we have put into community projects is definitely paying off, now seeing how much we have achieved and our final prototype we are extremely proud of our teamwork.
