Hi my name is Leanne Cook. I qualified from Sheffield Hallam University as an Occupational Therapist in 2022 and have been working at the City of Doncaster Council in the Adult health and wellbeing team since gaining my qualification.
Prior to attending Sheffield Hallam university to complete my undergraduate degree, I was working as a Occupational Therapy Assistant since 2003 in the NHS. I have experience in Medical, Surgical, End of Life Care, Neurology and rehabilitation and now work in the Community in the social services.Â
My route into the undergraduate course was not the typical route. I undertook whilst working as a therapy assistant the route of; Higher Level apprenticeship and Foundation Degree route with North Lindsey College, this involved attending college one day a week whilst still working full time. Once I had obtained my foundation degree with North Lindsey (in partnership with Sheffield Hallam) I joined the Occupational Therapy Undergraduate course in the 2nd year in 2021 which lead to my qualification in 2022.
