NHS England
Fay has supported NHS apprenticeships in the NHS since 2010, developing over 13 years expertise in apprenticeships and technical education policy and reform. Fay has a passion for apprenticeship solutions that equip health and social care staff with the essential skills to meet the challenges of future service delivery, alongside supporting their personal achievement – ultimately using apprenticeships to address key workforce supply issues whilst removing barriers to education.
She first joined the NHS as programme lead at the North East Ambulance Service, where she had responsibility for the Trusts apprenticeship programme. Later moving to Health Education England in 2014 as Contract Manger; managing education contracts and apprenticeship programmes across eleven NHS Foundation Trusts.
Fay took up her current portfolio in 2018 and currently works with senior officials within Health and Government to increase cross-organisational working and the growth of apprenticeships in the NHS. Providing apprenticeship capacity-building expertise to ensure a fit for purpose health and social care workforce, by maximising apprenticeship uptake and use of levy.
Fay currently supports several key national apprenticeship professions including, Estates and Facilities, working with stakeholders to develop their understanding and to successfully implement apprenticeships within workforce plans.
