PLANT

PLANT SELECTION

At King Ecgbert School in Sheffield, we are dedicated to using the right plant machinery and equipment to build the new library learning center in a way that is safe, quick, and good for the environment.

During the selecting process, we look at several important factors, such as:

By carefully choosing and using this plant machinery, we hope to make the building safe, efficient, and productive while also following health and safety rules and having less of an effect on the school and the places around it.

EXCAVATORS

On this big job to build a library learning centre, we will use a strong Komatsu PC210LC-11 excavator for digs and base work. This big machine can dig deep enough and far enough to dig utility ditches, foundations, and basements all over the building site. Because it has a big operating weight, strong engine, deep digging ability, and long reach, the Komatsu PC210LC-11 is a good choice for this size of project's mining needs.

HEAVY LIFTING

We will use a telescopic crawler crane, such as the Sennebogen 673 R-HD, to move and lift large structure pieces, premade parts, and HVAC systems. With a maximum boom length of 40 metres and the ability to lift 70 tonnes, this crane will make sure that big things are put in the right place and safely during the installation phase.

READY MIX CONCRETE TRUCK

Ready-mixed concrete is good for building projects that need to be finished quickly because it comes to the job site already mixed, so work can be done on time without having to wait for the concrete to dry on-site. It gets rid of the need for control and the extra costs of hiring workers to make concrete on-site. Transit mixer cars bring the concrete from the plant, where it is mixed.

DUMP TRUCKS

To and from the site, heavy dump trucks like the Volvo FMX 460 or Scania P-series will be used to move dirt, rocks, and other large goods like gravel and sand. Skid-steer tractors, like the Bobcat S650, will be used for many tasks, such as moving things around, levelling the ground, and cleaning up.

FORKLIFT

Forklifts with rough terrain, like the Manitou MRT 2150 Privilege Plus, will be needed to move boxes of building goods and tools around the building site. Its ability to go off-road, large lifting capacity, and small size make it perfect for moving goods and getting around the job site.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENTS

Depending on the needs of the project, we may also need specialized tools like cherry pickers (like the Niftylift HR21 Hybrid or the Genie Z-60/37 DC) that can be placed on trucks or pushed by hand to safely reach high areas during roofs, cladding, or exterior finishes.

Telehandlers like the Manitou MT 625 and JCB 540-200 Loadall can be very helpful for moving big things around in tight spaces.
