SBIRT (grades 7 & 9)-In 2016, Massachusetts passed legislation mandating SBIRT in schools. The requirements for public schools in the Commonwealth to engage in substance use screening and education can be accessed here Chapter 52.
PANORAMA Surveys: Social and Emotional Learning
SRSS- Student Risk Screening Scale (grade 9)- Externalizing behaviors
SELIS (Social and Emotional Learning Inventory System)- In March 2020, four MVPS schools** piloted the SELIS in grades 4, 5, 8, and 10. This work was funded by the Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and co-facilitated by the MVPS Behavioral Health Coordinator and school guidance/admin teams.

2019 EDSCLS (Grades 5-12)- School Climate Survey- Due to COVID demands, MVPS did not participate in a 2020 school climate survey; with the exception of some students in select MCAS grades completing the VOCAL (Voices of Climate and Learning) survey administered by DESE (grades 4, 5, 8, 10). MVPS aims to revisit assessing school climate across its schools in 2021.
