MVPS Strategic Objectives:
Desired Outcome: A well educated highly professional staff that utilizes effective instructional strategies that meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student population.

Health Education Implementation Plan:
Health education is supported by instructional staff in all six schools and all grades K-12 who are fully-trained in the evidence-based Michigan Model for Health curriculum and who collaborate with community partners to bolster and augment areas for health education as necessary.
A sex education curriculum is selected and money is encumbered to train health teachers in the evidence-based curriculum.
MVPS uses the MM Health curriculum for grades K-12.
Vineyard Montessori uses the MM Health curriculum for grades Pk-8.

The Healthy Relationships curriculum is covered in grades 5-12.
CONNECT’s Healthy Relationships curriculum was designed using the evidence-based Mentors in Violence Prevention curriculum, a training our facilitators have received out of Northeastern University Sports in Society, as well as the evidence-based Safe Dates curriculum and research-based SAFE-T curriculum.
Law Enforcement Against Drugs
MVPS Health Education Departments in Oak Bluffs, Edgartown, and Tisbury Schools partner with Dukes County Sheriffs Department to implement the national L.E.A.D. curriculum.
