Self Reflection

This is my favorite project every year. Most students have not ever gotten to see or hold chicks before and even fewer have ever hatched them. Those that have hatched chicks before still end up learning a lot and are even more intrigued. I love getting to candle the eggs and showing students the inside of the egg as the chick grows and changes every single day. Next year, I want to add more emphasis on the different kinds of chickens and their purposes. I would also like to incorporate it into math so that students can figure out how much it would cost to buy and care for chickens.
