Project Reflections
This last Friday, we wrapped up the outside portion of the snow project. Kindergarten hosted a party to celebrate our learning through more activities in the snow. My students loved being able to show other people their snow sculptures on this last Friday. After the party, we also began individual student reflections. I asked students to find and name two things that they were proud of from their snow sculpture building. These things included teamwork, successfully making a snow sculpture, and their plan. They also needed to find and name two things that they would change or improve if they did this project in the future. This reflection project went well, but they do need more time on finishing their reflections. Overall, I think this project went extremely well. It was definitely a nice step from the first project that I completed which was the Pumpkin project. I gave students more voice and choice for this project, and I feel more comfortable with what I am doing.
Exemplar Student Project Examples
This student did an amazing job working with her team to plan the project and snow sculpture. She also was able to write a reflection and acknowledge the strong points as well as what could have been better.
This group struggled with sticking to their original plan and working together when they first began building. I was extremely proud of how they problem solved and ended up finding a way for all of them to be happy and proud of what they did. In this student's reflection, she acknowledged her teammates for their hard work.
