Today all schools have what is called Student Assistance Programs, a collection of school-based and/or intervention services that help students with their personal problems and encourage them to build on their strengths so that they are able to attend school regularly and be academically successful. The Muhlenberg S.A.P. Team is focused on many different issues that impact student achievement. Some of these issues are as follows:
Substance abuse prevention and intervention
Violence prevention
Eating disorders
Grief and loss
Divorce in family
Youth suicide
Crisis management
Character development
If you suspect your child or any other student is :
Using alcohol
Using drugs
Is having personal problems
If any of these issues are interfering with his or her performance in school, contact your student's alpha counselor or the school social worker. Don’t let problems become barriers to learning and success in school.
Are your child's grades slipping?
Is your child violent or apathetic?
Is your child having difficulty handling family issues or emotional distress?
Is your child dealing with unhealthy peer pressure?
Is your child using drugs or alcohol?
If your child exhibits any of the above, please contact your student's alpha counselor or the school social worker.
Feel free to contact any of the team members by calling Muhlenberg High School and requesting to speak to the member of your choice.
The Muhlenberg S.A.P. team consists of teachers, counselors, and administrators who have been trained to assist students who are experiencing difficulties.
