The NCAA Eligibility Center certifies whether prospective college athletes are eligible to play sports at NCAA Division I or II institutions. It does this by reviewing the student-athlete's academic record, SAT or ACT scores, and amateur status to ensure conformity with NCAA rules. If you plan to play a sport at the Division I or II level, you must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. The following is a checklist of things you will need to do as well as some basic information you may find helpful:
Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center by the end of your junior year at www.eligibilitycenter.org
Complete the Registration process truthfully
If you used a fee waiver to register for either your ACT or SAT exam, you must visit your school counselor in order to have your NCAA registration fee waived.
After completing your registration, ask your high school counselor to send your transcript to the Eligibility Center
Take the ACT and/or SAT and use the code 9999 to have your official scores sent directly to the Eligibility Center. The NCAA will not accept test scores sent from high school counseling offices.
NCAA registration does NOT equal college admission. The NCAA Eligibility center only determines whether you meet NCAA requirements as a freshman student-athlete in a Division I or II college to be able to complete, practice, and receive an athletics scholarship. In order to be considered for admissions to any college or university, students must complete an application to that particular school.
