Teaching Competencies

Teaching competencies are the knowledge and skills critical to a teacher's role as an educator. They are a guide for teacher educators while designing and approving programs for teacher preparation.

The teaching competencies include planning, facilitation, assessment, inclusive environment and professional roles.

The competencies should be considered as a whole and not in any particular sequence, rank or order. The elements of each competency are interrelated and work together to complete a picture of effective teaching practices.
