1.National Chiayi University has a century-old history, and the alumni network is strong.

National Chiayi University was established on February 1, 2000, through the integration of the original National Chiayi Institute of Technology (established in 1919) and the original National Chiayi Normal College (established in 1957). The school has a long history, and its development and growth are closely related to the needs and changes of Taiwan's economy, society, and education over the past century. The birth of National Chiayi University fulfilled the long-standing desire of local people for a university and was also the first successful example and model of university integration in Taiwan's higher education institutions, making it the most historical and comprehensive university in the Yunlin-Chiayi area.

2. Our department ranked first in Taiwan in the field of tourism and leisure according to the 2023 Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

In the past three years, the faculty members of our department have achieved the following:

- Published a total of 58 papers in domestic and international academic journals (46 international papers and 12 domestic papers).

- Presented a total of 37 papers at domestic and international academic conferences (24 international papers and 13 domestic papers).

- Completed a total of 42 research projects in the past three years (26 projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 16 projects in collaboration with public sector and private enterprises).

- Authored 1 book and other publications.

Professor Sheng-Hshiung Tsaur received the honor of being appointed as a distinguished professor for life; awarded the Special Talent Award by the National Science Council.

Professor Tien-Ming Cheng received the honor of being appointed as a distinguished professor.

Our faculty members have their journal articles published in important journals in their respective fields. They collaborate on projects with central agencies, local cultural institutions, and private organizations. Additionally, our faculty members frequently participate in external social service projects and are actively involved in academic research institutions, public sector units, educational institutions, and private companies.

•Chih-Hu Hsiao 老師與Orange Hotel進行粉絲專頁行銷產學合作、承接Ministry of Agriculture 相關農產品市調工作、與多家相關民企團體進行伴手禮宣傳計畫。

•Wei Tung 老師進行連鎖藥局零售經營與管理產學合作。

•Yao-Jen Chang 老師進行嘉義市慈龍寺網站架設及行銷構想產學合作。

•Chyong-Ru Liu 老師與鳳凰國際公關公司進行節慶活動效益評估產學合作並承接中正基金會委託專業計畫研究休閒農業相關議題

•Tien-Ming Cheng 老師調查墾丁、雙流國家森林遊樂區及林後四林平地森林園區服務品質與遊客回流率，以及西拉雅國家風景區滿意度調查等。

8. To help students integrate into the university, master's, and doctoral programs as quickly as possible, we have implemented several admission support and counseling mechanisms:

Freshman Welcome Events and various activities (for undergraduate students)
New Student Orientation Meetings (for master's and doctoral students)
Mentorship program
Upload of course syllabi and teaching materials
Student Learning Portfolio System

Learning Warning Mechanism: According to the "Implementation Guidelines for Predicting Learning Effectiveness of Undergraduate Students at National Chiayi University," appropriate care, understanding, and counseling are provided to students with learning difficulties.

Mentor Meetings: Full-time faculty members take turns serving as mentors, establishing fixed meeting times to provide students with academic and career counseling, offering students a professional counseling resource.

Office Hours for Full-time Faculty: Faculty members in our department schedule fixed office hours every week to provide counseling and guidance to students on academic, personal, emotional, and career planning matters.

Master's and Doctoral Program Counseling Mechanism: Through teaching, office hours, and meetings, various channels are used to provide course selection and research direction recommendations based on individual interests and expertise during the guidance process.
