Film Criticism & Analysis

One option for a study in this arena is to borrow the book Becoming Film Literate: The Art and Craft of Motion Pictures by Vincent LoBrutto from the High School Library (791.43 LOB). Find an essay (They are all very short.) and watch the associated film.

Alternatively, write an analysis of the techniques used in a particular scene of a film. For example, here is a good look at the opening scene of Wes Craven's Scream: http://baisdp6ocayless.blogspot.com/2010/11/scream-analysis-of-camera-lighting-and.html
