A Year in the Meadow

The Project

The Muddy Branch Alliance established a 7,000-square-foot native plant meadow. One of the key purposes of the meadow was to serve as a demonstration of how projects like this can be implemented.

What I Did

I took photographs and video clips of the meadow to document how it grew and changed after being started from seed in the summer of 2020. I shared those images on social media as I collected them. At the end of 2022, I used Canva to repurpose that year's images into a video.

Microplastics

The Project

I proposed content for the Izaak Walton League's magazine, Outdoor America, then repurposed the content as a video.

What I Did

I recruited a scientist to write a magazine article about microplastics. After the article was published, I converted it into a script for a video. I worked with a mentor to create the video in Canva. The mentor was impressed and offered to share the video on his social media channels. For reasons internal to the Izaak Walton League, the video was never released.
