PEBL: I don’t think I was meant to be a computer scientist.

GEM: What do you mean?

PEBL: I study every day, but I still don’t feel like I understand what’s going on. I feel like no matter what I do, I just won’t ever understand.

GEM: Are you giving yourself enough time to work on your assignments?

PEBL: I start them right when they’re assigned and I study and read the textbook when I’m not working on my assignment. I don’t know what else I can do.

GEM: Well, you might just not be a CS person. Some people just don’t have a talent for it . Didn’t you say you were doing well in your anthropology class? Maybe you should just focus on what you’re good at.

PEBL: Yeah, but I still need to get a good grade in this class. Is there anything else I can be doing?

GEM: Well, it sounds like you’re doing everything I would tell you to do already. Maybe CS just isn’t for you. There’s still time to drop if you’re worried it’ll bring down your GPA.
