building resilience
Wednesday, December 6
Evidence shows that resilience, the ability to recover quickly from challenges, is a strong indicator of a learner’s success in a given field.
After the video, take a minute or so to reflect on what resonated with you, then write a response to this prompt:
What is a takeaway you'll leave this course with?
Please compose your response, but do not hit return until prompted!
I will leave this course with a really improved resilience, since I have been challenging myself a lot and overcoming difficulties and doing things I thought were impossible for me to do. I am really satisfied, even grateful for what my takeaway from this course!!
Throughout the course, there have been different challenges in each project. Getting through those obstacles has definitely helped me feel more confident about my abilities and build a growth mindset.
This class has taught me that resilience is not just about enduring tough times, but also about adapting and learning from them. Building resilience allows us to bounce back from adversity and transform challenges into opportunities for growth.
With patience, self-compassion, proper planning, and accessible resources to turn to for help anyone can feel a sense of belonging in any space
The biggest takeaway for me is to be aware of your current status and not bothering to try things first before denying it. Challenging could be scary but once you split things up, each step will become much easier.
We can take a moment to reflect to build resilience and defeat challenges. We can also actively communicate with others to build a collaborative environment that helps with building resilience.
I think that a takeaway from this course could be learning skills that I didn't know previously.
That my vision may not always be exactly what I anticipated, but with flexibility and my ability to adapt I can still create something I am proud of that displays the skills and techniques I have learned. Also, fimbel is not a scary place!
one takeaway from this class is that no matter how far behind I might feel, there will be someone else who also feels that way. We just have to communicate our needs to a different perspective.
One takeaway I will leave this course is, it's okay to cry in frustration about something not working but after your cry, you need to dusk yourself off, build a positive mentality, create a new plan, and enjoy the journey that's to come. It will all be okay in the end!
This class has taught me a lot about resilience. I'll leave this class knowing that even if I struggle or don't succeed the first time then I can keep taking small steps to reach my goals, even when I did not originally have a lot of confidence in my ability.
My Main and favorite takeaway is that a Master's in Industrial design is the right direction to go post-graduation. I was concerned at first I didn't quite understand all the aspects or that it wasn't going to be "my thing". But in actuality, it was!
Tech resilience, defined as the ability to navigate and overcome challenges in the ever-changing tech landscape, hinges on a strategic approach. An essential component of tech resilience lies in adopting diverse perspectives and collaborative strategies. Approaching problems from different angles not only enhances problem-solving but also encourages continuous improvement. This reminds of my main takeaway from this class, which the collaboration further amplifies resilience by tapping into collective expertise. Drawing parallels to cognitive flexibility, a real-world example from a teamwork project illustrates this concept. Faced with challenges in creating a visually appealing pumpkin, the team exercised cognitive flexibility by pivoting to a flat paper design. This not only provided a creative solution but also saved time, highlighting the significance of multi-perspective thinking in achieving successful outcomes. In essence, tech resilience is cultivated through strategic problem identification, diverse perspectives, and collaborative efforts.
Being a student in the iDesign course has been like a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs. I've faced challenges that pushed me to be tough and keep going. Looking back, I see that being tough isn't just something you have; it's something you learn by facing difficulties and not giving up. Working in groups has also tested my resilience. Everyone in a team has different skills and ideas. Sometimes, this can be tricky to handle. But by communicating well and staying committed to our goals, my team and I have turned challenges into opportunities. Resilience, in this context, means being able to handle disagreements and still work together towards success. Looking at my first days in class and what the projects I have been able to work on now, I would say there has been a major improvement. To sum it up, the iDesign course has been a big learning experience. It's not just about learning tech skills but also about growing as a person who can handle challenges, work well with others, learn from mistakes, and take care of themselves. As I go through the ups and downs of iDesign, I understand that being resilient is not a one-time thing—it's an ongoing journey that shapes both the designer and the person behind the designs.
