You will be giving two elevator pitches in this class:
On 10/18, there is a group elevator pitch.
On 11/1, you will each give an elevator pitch for your proposed final project.
To help you prepare your elevator pitch, here is a template adapted from Steven Schmeiser. It is framed for pitching a product to seek investment capital, so you'll want to adjust the framing with this in mind:
COMPANY - who are you? this can help us understand your "backstory" and contextualize your project
NEED - what does your project seek to provide to its user?
SOLUTION - how does your project address the need?
MARKET - who do you imagine will be interacting with the project?
BUSINESS MODEL - optional for this course context
EXIT - optional for this course context
PEOPLE - who will you pull in to help design, build and/or test your project?
THE ASK - are there resources beyond the supplies already provided in the course that you'll need for the project?
What is the end goal?Â
Sometimes a "story" helps here, like:
My neighbor walks up to my door. They see a __(something to interact with)__ and they __(somehow interact with)__ it. On the other side of the door, I __(somehow am notified)__.
What components will you need?
What other resources will you need?

Overview
You will use the skills from the course so far to make your own "doorbell" project using the Circuit Playground Bluefruit. You will be working with Arduino code, so make sure you start early and build in time to access help (office and TA hours). If you get stuck on code, you can also email it to me!
There must be some way for a person to "activate" the doorbell
There must be some way for a person on the "other side" to be notified that the doorbell has been activated
Requirements
Document your process on your web site, including successes and failures encountered along the way. There should be:
pictures of your design (for the physical music box) and steps that you took when creating the project
a final video or collection of photos that demonstrates the final product
please check your permissions
a reflection on the project and how it relates to the topics so far in this course, using these prompts to get started:
During the design and development of the project, can you identify the role that self-efficacy, mindset, self-regulation and/or belongingness impacted your process?
Does this project's experience remind you of other moments in your academic journey where you have been more/less successful?
you can choose to write the reflection (2-3 paragraphs) or record it as video/audio (1-3 minutes)
