It's easy to get to and around Camden and Philadelphia!

Travel to the conference venue on the Rutgers University–Camden campus by car, rail, bus, air, and ferry! We're convenient to public transportation in South Jersey and the metro Philadelphia area, as well as to all major highways, including the New Jersey Turnpike, Atlantic City Expressway, and Routes 295, 676, and 76.

Public Transportation to Rutgers-Camden

AIRLINE

Fly into Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)

  • The airport is a 15-minute car ride from Rutgers–Camden. Take Interstate 95 North to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, then follow directions from Philadelphia to the campus.

  • By public transportation, take the SEPTA Airport Line to Jefferson Station in Philadelphia. At that station, board the PATCO Speedline into New Jersey and follow PATCO directions above.

RAIL

  • New Jersey Transit

    • The NJ TRANSIT River Line light-rail system has a southbound stop (Cooper Street/Rutgers Station) on campus at Third and Cooper Streets. The northbound stop is located at Second and Cooper Streets.

  • PATCO Speedline

    • PATCO Speedline offers easy train access from southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. The City Hall station at Fifth and Market Streets, one block from campus, is the nearest Rutgers–Camden stop.

    • From City Hall station, walk north toward Cooper Street. Note: PATCO operate with altered schedules as it completes track work on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. See PATCO schedules.

  • SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority)

    • Catch the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line to the Eighth and Market stop, and then board the PATCO Speedline into New Jersey. The first stop in Camden, the City Hall station, is the nearest stop to Rutgers–Camden. From City Hall station, walk north toward Cooper Street.

    • Several SEPTA Regional Rail lines stop at Jefferson Station at 10th and 12th Streets, where you can connect to the PATCO Speedline at Eighth and Market Streets in Philadelphia. Follow PATCO directions above.

  • AMTRAK

    • Amtrak trains stop at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. Catch the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line and see SEPTA directions above.

BUS

NJ TRANSIT buses stop at the Walter Rand Transportation Center at Broadway and Mickle Blvd.

FERRY

The Riverlink Ferry will be closed during the conference due to vessel maintenance.

Driving Directions to Rutgers-Camden

On a GPS or navigation app, entering "303 Cooper Street, Camden, New Jersey" will take you to the campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets. Drivers are encouraged to use a GPS or navigation app in conjunction with the directions below.

NJ TURNPIKE (NORTH or SOUTH)

  • Turn off at Exit 4. After toll booths proceed on Route 73 North approximately one mile to Route 38 West.

  • Route 38 will merge with Route 30.

  • Proceed on Route 30 West for approximately one mile where the road forks.

  • Take the right fork marked “Local Traffic Only, Last Exit Before Toll.”

  • Continue straight ahead to Seventh Street and turn left.

  • At the foot of the Seventh Street Bridge, turn right onto Cooper Street.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.

ROUTE 295

Southbound - Coming from the North

  • Turn off at Route 38 West exit at Moorestown.

  • Route 38 will merge with Route 30.

  • Proceed on Route 30 West for approximately one mile where the road forks.

  • Take the right fork marked “Local Traffic Only, Last Exit Before Toll.”

  • Continue straight ahead to Seventh Street and turn left.

  • At the foot of the Seventh Street Bridge, turn right onto Cooper Street.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.


Northbound - Coming from the South

  • Turn off at exit for North-South Freeway (Route 42).

  • Follow signs to Camden, exiting at Route 676.

  • Proceed along Route 676 to Exit 5B marked “Last Exit Before Toll - Benjamin Franklin Bridge.”

  • Turn left onto Linden Street at the first stop light. Continue one block to Seventh Street and turn left again.

  • At the foot of the Seventh Street Bridge, turn right onto Cooper Street.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.

ATLANTIC CITY EXPRESSWAY

  • Pick-up the North-South Freeway (Route 42).

  • Follow signs to Camden, exiting at Route 676.

  • Proceed along Route 676 to Exit 5B marked “Last Exit Before Toll - Benjamin Franklin Bridge.”

  • Turn left onto Linden Street at the first stop light. Continue one block to Seventh Street and turn left again.

  • At the foot of the Seventh Street Bridge, turn right onto Cooper Street.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.

ADMIRAL WILSON BOULEVARD (ROUTE 30 WEST)

  • Proceed approximately one mile from the Airport Circle where the road forks.

  • Take the right fork marked “Local Traffic Only, Last Exit Before Toll.”

  • Continue straight ahead to Seventh Street and turn left.

  • At the foot of the Seventh Street Bridge, turn right onto Cooper Street.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.

FROM PHILADELPHIA

Benjamin Franklin Bridge Via Route 676

  • Entering New Jersey from Route 676, stay to the right.

  • Follow signage for “Sixth Street/Broadway” and take that exit.

  • On the exit ramp, bear right toward Sixth Street and stop sign.

  • Once through stop sign at the end of the exit, go one block to Cooper Street and make a right.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.


Walt Whitman Bridge Via Route 76

  • Entering New Jersey from Route 76, take the “Camden/Gloucester City” exit.

  • Proceed in the left lane about 1,000 feet to the Camden Exit.

  • Turn left and continue on Route 676 to Exit 5B marked “Last Exit Before Toll - Benjamin Franklin Bridge.”

  • Turn left onto Linden Street at the first stop light.

  • Continue one block to Seventh Street and turn left again.

  • At the foot of the Seventh Street Bridge, turn right onto Cooper Street.

  • The campus entry at Third and Cooper Streets will be several blocks ahead on the right.

Visitor Parking

Rutgers-affiliated attendees must park in Rutgers-Camden parking lots in accordance with their Rutgers parking permit.

Guests of the Hilton Garden Inn Camden Waterfront hotel have access to hotel parking. Many Philadelphia hotels also offer parking options.

For free daytime guest parking near the conference venue (Rutgers Camden Campus Center), register your vehicle here (make sure you receive a confirmation). If you do not register your vehicle for guest parking, you may receive a parking ticket.

  • Once your vehicle is registered, you may conveniently park in Lots C1, C2, C3 and C14 (see map below). Access a printable pdf of the parking map here. In the unlikely event that these lots are full, you may also park in City Lots 15 and 16 (see directions).

  • You do not need to print and place your parking registration confirmation in your vehicle - parking services uses license plate scanning technology and checks with the virtual parking registration database. Be sure your license plate is visible from the aisle for drive-by plate scanning.

  • Wayfinding signage will be present to help guide you to parking lots and the conference venue.
