Discover Philadelphia

Overview

Philadelphia (or Philly, as it called in the NY-NJ-PA area) is the sixth most populous city in the United States and a major cultural and economic center in the Northeast. America's first World Heritage City and the birthplace of the United States, Philadelphia has a rich and complicated history that has indelibly shaped American culture, commerce and politics--from its pre-colonial roots as a Lenape (Delaware) homeland to its pivotal role in the Revolutionary War, its growth as prestigious port to a hub of suffrage and civil rights protest. Philadelphia continues to pulse today with diversity, innovation, and discourse, evident in its landscape, architecture, art and food scene. Stroll the shops and markets, take in the riverfront parks and museums, steep yourself in the Historic District and breathtaking murals...there's something for everyone and a warm welcome awaiting you in the "City of Brotherly Love."
