Welcome! I’m My’Kina Williams, an education technology professional and K–8 mathematics leader with more than five years of experience in Detroit schools.
My work has grown beyond classroom teaching. In my current role, I support educators across nine grade levels, help teachers use digital learning platforms, review performance data, create implementation resources, and coordinate professional learning. I especially enjoy making tools, information, and processes easier for people to understand and use.
I hold a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. I am now preparing to bring my experience into educational technology, program implementation, training, customer success, or program support. My goal is to continue contributing to education by helping the people, programs, and systems that support student success.

A Message That Shaped My Career
Rita Pierson’s “Every Kid Needs a Champion” was one of the first videos that inspired me to become an educator. Her message reminded me that relationships, encouragement, and genuine belief in students can have a lasting impact on their learning.
As my career evolves, this video has taken on a different meaning for me. I still believe every child deserves a champion, but I have learned that supporting students does not always have to happen from inside a classroom. My next chapter is focused on supporting the educators, technology, programs, and systems that help students succeed.
I also believe that being honest about where I can do my best work matters. I want to use my experience in education, technology, professional learning, and data to contribute in a way that feels purposeful and allows me to make an impact beyond one classroom.
