Dear Educational Technology Leaders, Collaborators, and Change makers,
As an educator grounded in both theory and practice, I have seen firsthand how thoughtfully integrated technology can transform the learning experience—not just by enhancing instruction, but by increasing access, equity, and student voice. With a Master of Arts in Educational Technology and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Psychology from Michigan State University, I have cultivated a deep understanding of how technology, learning science, and human connection intersect to shape meaningful educational experiences.
Currently, I teach 6th and 8th grade mathematics at a middle school in Detroit, Michigan. My students are resilient, brilliant, and often navigating personal and systemic challenges, including trauma, inequity, and limited access to resources. These realities have shaped my belief that educational technology must do more than entertain or automate—it must be purposeful, inclusive, and empowering. I design learning experiences that are responsive to my students’ academic, emotional, and cultural needs, using tools such as Nearpod, Google Workspace, and data-informed behavior supports to differentiate instruction and foster authentic engagement.
Through my graduate coursework, I developed expertise in instructional design, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and the TPACK framework. I created asynchronous modules, curated digital learning environments, and led inquiry-based projects that reflected real-world learning goals. I also engaged in hands-on experiences with assistive technology, behavior analysis, and inclusive online teaching—gaining insight into how educational tools can be leveraged to support learners of all backgrounds and abilities.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect pedagogy with purpose. I approach educational technology not as a one-size-fits-all solution, but as a flexible, evolving toolkit that must be adapted to support diverse learners in diverse contexts. Whether I’m creating a tech-integrated math lesson, facilitating a professional learning session for colleagues, or designing a behavior intervention plan informed by data and empathy, I bring a commitment to equity, innovation, and continuous growth.
Looking ahead, I am eager to expand my impact beyond the classroom. I am seeking opportunities in instructional design, edtech consulting, professional development facilitation, or curriculum innovation—roles where I can combine my passion for technology with my experience as a trauma-informed, student-centered educator. I believe strongly in the potential of technology to break barriers, and I am excited to collaborate with others who share the vision of creating more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful learning environments.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio and learn more about my journey. I welcome the opportunity to connect with forward-thinking educators, developers, and organizations working at the intersection of education and technology. Let’s build something transformative—together.
Warm regards,
MyKina Williams
