World Languages Department Mission Statement

The MHS World Languages Department is committed to helping students develop communicative and cultural proficiency and literacy in several of the world's languages (Spanish, French, Japanese).

Our aims are:

• to help students cultivate the skills needed to communicate and collaborate across languages and cultures.

• to help students develop an appreciation of, and respect for, the great diversity of the world's cultures and languages.

• to help students see themselves as active and responsible members of a shared global community.
