Math
11th grade students are placed in the appropriate Math course by their Math teacher. There are IB and concurrent enrollment opportunities in Mathematics for 11th grade students.
Students who receive Special Education services are placed in the appropriate core classes by their Case Manager.
Students who receive English Language Learner services are placed in the appropriate core classes by teachers, based on their ACESS scores, WIDA level, and current progress.
Advanced Coursework, Electives, and Other Graduation Requirements:
Students may enroll in the IB Diploma or IB Medallion program in their 11th grade year (continuing through their 12th grade year). Students who wish to take advanced courses are not required to enroll in a full program but may elect to take individual IB or concurrent enrollment classes. Advanced courses fulfill the requirements for graduation.
11th grade students will round out their schedule with elective courses. Students can select from a variety of Fine Arts, Physical Education, World Language, and academic electives (including AVID). Read more about our course offerings on the Department pages.
Students need to complete one semester of Fit for Life and one semester of Health to graduate. Students may take these courses at any point in their High School career, but it is recommended that they complete both courses in their 9th grade year, if possible.
