Edison Theater's Tech Crew is the backstage crew to two important parts of the Edison community. The first is that the tech crew is responsible for building sets, the lighting and sound, and video recordings of theater performances. The second part is that the crew also does the lighting and sound for events at Edison like cultural showcases, pep-fests, and concerts. With three theater performances a year and numerous other activities taking place on the Edison stage, you can always see members of the Tech Crew busying around and smiling while doing so.
If this sounds like a thing you would be interested in, just sign up through the form below! If you are interested in what specific events the tech crew helps in, scroll down and see more detailed descriptions. Even if only interested in doing one thing with the crew, sign up anyway. We could always have some extra-hands. Please reach out to TLC President Svetlana (contact details on home page) with any questions.

Each year Edison Theater puts on a musical and two plays for which tech crew builds sets, runs light and sound boards, and moves set pieces during performances.
Each of the various cultural clubs at Edison put on an annual showcase. The tech crew runs the lighting and sound for these performances and assists in any other way that may be needed.
When Edison puts on school events like pep-fests or Convocation, tech crew manages the microphones, lighting, plays any audio needed, and plays videos on the projector.
Edison Band and Choir each put on multiple concerts each year. Tech crew sets up and takes down necessary equipment like speakers and cords as well as runs sound and lighting boards.
For each musical and play at Edison the tech crew builds a set. These sets vary in size and shape but usually resemble rooms. We use power tools so people interested must complete the safety training linked below. We start building sets a few months before shows.
Mr. Reinhard will cover this once you go to a meeting or two, but to use more advanced power tools (table saws, nail guns, etc.) you must take and pass a safety training test. Don't worry, it's not hard! The link to the training is attached below.
