First Semester Reflection
What are you proud of and why?
I am proud of getting an exceeds on all of my quizzes, geography and vocabulary. This is because I worked really hard to study every night, and I made sure to also study for the bonus questions.
Which part of the unit did you struggle with and why?
One thing that I struggled with this unit was getting the note catchers, and annotations done on time, and I often had to do them for homework so I could finish. This is because I am a perfectionist, and I have really high standards for myself.
What is something you could have improved upon this semester? (Think habits, practices, or skills)
I could have improved by not trying so hard on my annotations and stopped myself from having to do it as homework, because I have other things after school, and I didn’t really have time to get more homework.

ELA
FALL GOAL: My goal in ELA is to improve my vocabulary so I can use more sophisticated words in my writing. I will work on this by doing my vocabulary homework every week, reading, and doing IXL. I would like to get a 657 on my next I-Ready assessment.
WINTER GOAL: My goal in ELA is to get 8th grade in vocabulary in order to get a 660 on my spring I-ready assessment. I can work on IXL every week in vocabulary in order to improve my knowledge and therefore my I-ready score.
We recently started our new unit about civics. Right now we are reading some of the ancient texts describing rights.
The longest run was the story I chose to use for my mulitmedia project. It was originally going to be a different story, one of the quick writes I used for writers workshop, but in the middle of creating the video, I decided I didn't like the story, so I wrote this one.

Annotations
We do weekly annotations, sometimes we only do humanities annotations, and sometimes we do ELA annotations too. Some examples of my ELA annotations are Puro Amor, There Will Come Soft Rains, and a couple others.
When we came back from winter break we had to write a five paragraph essay about break. It was fun to reflect on my favorite parts of break and come up with figurative language to describe it all.
