8th Grade

About Me

I am in 8th grade, and I am 13 years old. I enjoy things like baking, reading, singing, and playing sports. I enjoy being in the outdoors and fall is one of my favorite seasons because of the beautiful colors and the changing of seasons. In the future I hope to become a surgeon or a criminal defense lawyer, and I hope to go to college at NYU or Stanford.

Grade Level Lens

Each grade has a different lens that they are influenced by for the year. In 6th grade, their lens is confidence, 7th grade has identity, and the 8th grade level lens is impact. Impact to me is the act of making change in something you care about. It means to create change and influence in your community. By the textbook definition, it means to have a strong effect on someone or something. Both definitions are very similar if you think about it in context. To have a strong effect is the same as creating influence. Both can impact the community around you. Overall, impact means to have an effect on something, or be able to influence and change the community around you. I want to be able to impact peoples opinions and views, and influence their decisions and interests. I want to be able to make changes in my community, and potentially make bigger changes outside of Durango.
