Geometry

We did a review on rigid transformations (rotation, translation, and reflection) and we also learned about dilations.

Math Mindset

The Myth of the math person or math brain is that everyone has a math brain but it is a skill that is built up throughout time it's not a trait that your born with. Mistakes are important in math because each time you make a mistake you learn something that helps you. For example during our one cut activity we made a bunch of mistakes until we were able to figure out the right formation of cuts and folds. I'm feeling pretty good about math based on previous experiences because its pretty easy for me and I have gotten help whenever I've needed it which had helped me grow. Some skills I can use for a positive math mindset this year are coming in with a positive attitude and doing my homework/assignments to help me understand what we are learning in math.

I-Ready - BOY (beginning of year)

I overall tested at a 7th (517). This means that I'm where i should be because I haven't learned any 8th grade math skills yet. As far as the national Norm I'm in the 76th percentile which is good. The highest domain I scored in was measurement and data which I was in mid 8th in and the lowest domain I scored in was numbers and operations which I got 7th grade in. By the end of the year i-Ready test, I want to score in the mid to late 8th grade level. I will do this by doing my delta math and listening during lessons. .

Math Quiz #1

This quiz covered transformations, rotations, and reflections. I got a meets because I got all the questions right except for one and there was no way to get an exceeds. My goal is to get all the answers correct next time and do my best.
