My goal for being helpful in science during group projects is to give useful feedback (specific, feasible, supportive) to others so they can improve their work. I will achieve this goal by looking over there work before giving them feedback.

Unit 1: Geology

Rock cycle virtual lab

This lab was about the different types of rocks and rock cycles. I learned about the rock cycle and how it happened. I also learned about the different types of rocks and how they are formed. This lab helped me understand the concept by asking me questions and also walking me through the different rocks and cycles. I used respect in this lab by trying to do each question slowly and trying to understand each one as much as possible.

plate tectonics lab

This lab was about plate tectonics, how they move, and the different types of boundaries and plates.I learned about the different plates and boundaries. The lab also helped me understand plate tectonics better. It helped me understand the concept by walking me through the different boundaries and helping me understand the different types of plates. The habit of heart and mind I used was integrity because I stayed focused and did my work without being reminded.

EXHIBITION reflection

This project was part of our exhibition. The learning target is I can create a scientific explanation based on evidence from rock strata for how the geologic time frame is used to organize earth’s 4.6 billion year old history. I met this learning target by earning a meets on the exhibition project. This project was about the plate tectonics and the rock strata of the region you studied (my region was California). To complete this project we had to make a model including details and information from our slides about our region. In the future what I learned about group work can be applied by including everyone and if someone is missing fill in for them. I can use how I planned my project in the future by talking with my group and sketching out a rough design before starting the project. In the future I will try to keep track of time and use my materials wisely. In conclusion this was a successful exhibition project and I did very well.

Interstellar Chronicles

For this exhibition we made a model that showed our phenomenon, mine was eclipses and equinoxes. I got a meets for my model, a meets on project research, an exceeds on the presentation, and a meets in group work. I got these grades because I showed respect and was on task. For example while we were practicing in the hall I didn't mess around and I made sure I was still doing my best work. Another example of how I showed respect is when we were practicing I didn't interrupt anyone, and I took everyone's ideas into consideration.

Farming Exhibition

What did you complete for this project? What was your topic?

To complete this project my partner and I researched how sunscreen was killing coral reefs and then we found good alternatives for sunscreens and looked through all the ingredients. After we finished the research we created a slide show. My topic for this exhibition was how sunscreen is killing coral reefs.

How do you think it went?

I think this exhibition went very well and I also think we had really good information and reliable solid research. While we were presenting I also think we did well and did a nice job.

Group Work: For group work I think I was very respectful to my peers and we were very considerate of each other while making sure to balance the work. Overall I would say it was a good partnership and we worked together very well and were respectful.
