My area was the Pacific Northwest Coast. I think the exhibition went well. I did use filler words like "um" or "er", but I think I did pretty well over all, and I am proud of the effort I put into this project. My favorite part of the project was building the model. It was exciting to make such an informative art project. A challenge Kaylee and I faced was how Ava was supposed to be our partner for the project, but she wasn't here for this project, so it was just us two doing a three-person job. I think I met my group-work goal of disagreeing more respectfully with others. I feel like, when I disagreed, I would try to use the sentence starters I stated earlier, like " I like this, but..." or "I respectfully disagree, I think we could to _____ better".
Me throwing the Atlatl!
Our field trip to chimney rock was really fun, and my favorite part was when we chiseled our own arrowheads out of obsidian. One thing I learned about science was that when I found a fossil at the atlatl-throwing station, and it was really cool. Some of the fossils show that the area of chimney rock used to be a small sea! Something I learned in humanities is how the people of chimney rock believed that the sun and moon were deities, and that the moon was lost a old man who wandered around the sky a lot. I really enjoyed throwing the Atlatl, and I hit the target one time! It was really funny when Alton missed the target and the Atlatl got stuck in a bush. I gained confidence in the trip in one of my favorite activities there, weaving. I enjoyed weaving because I was cool to make bracelets out of little bits of yarn that were weaved together.
