One goal I have for my Humanities group work is to do tasks without being reminded. I will do this by checking my google classroom every morning so that I can easily know what I have to do in my different classes, and what I have to do when I get home. Also when I get home, I'll try to go straight to my homework and not go strait to reading or something else that will distract me and make me forget.

This assignment was about compound and simple sentences. We had to write a story with compound sentences, simple sentences, and (if we wanted an exceeds) words from the word wall. I used refinement in this, because I wrote it and then went back to highlight it, while also checking grammar and punctuation.
This assignment was where you could either pick five important things that had happened in the story so far, or five notice and note signposts. I chose to do Notice and note signposts. Some notice and note signposts are Contrast and Contradiction, which are when something happens that contradicts what you thought would happen.
For this project, I created an infographic about the history of Fort Lewis as a Native American Boarding School. The target for this was to learn about and write an infographic on the history of Fort Lewis Native American Boarding School. I exceeded the target of this assignment. To complete it, I had to create slides outlining the details of the Indian boarding school at Fort Lewis described in a recent report. I learned that you need to plan out what you're going to write ahead of time. In future projects, I will put the effort in to manage my time more wisely as to not have to rush in the end.

Me and my friend Darcy created a poster representing Charlie's character growth throughout the first book of the Charlie Hernandez summative assignment. I feel like I was very helpful in this because I would always try to see if Darcy needed any help with her part of the poster, and I would try to get my part done to help her.
I prepared for my debate by practicing for it with my partner, Max, and working hard to use good quotes and supportive evidence. Our debate topic was "Why social media does more harm than good" and we were For this, meaning we were proving that social media does more harm. I think that I showed refinement by running through our research document together, not the one above, and trying to make sure all of our evidence was strong.
The most challenging part of writing this essay was probably making sure I introduced my evidence correctly, and I even had to redo my introduction of evidence on one of my body body paragraphs because I hadn't done and introduced it right. I would say that I am a stronger writer in body paragraphs because it was simple for me to add details and edit it, and I feel like it was really hard for me to not use words like "I feel" or "I think" in my introduction, because, in my mind, I DID feel that or I DID think that, and not everybody does, and for some reason I felt like I didn't want to offend them.My advice for another future sixth grader is not to worry about things like spelling or grammar until you're done with the basics, then you can go do the fine edits and make sure that the essay is good. Also, I feel like in peer editing, it would be good to not try and finish at the same time as a friend, because friends sometimes won't want to give you the feedback you'll need.
