The artwork was inspired by how my favorite animal is a black panther, and how I made the art in America. The theme of it was how to make a collage including the 7 elements of art. The materials I used were different varieties of paper, tissue paper, glue, and mod podge. I chose the paper because it was the best thing( in my opinion) to make the collage out of. The element of line was used in the stripes of the flag. The element of value was used in the fur of this he panther, because I used different shades of gray and black. The element of shape was used in when I added the stars to the flag. The element of color was used when I added the background of the American flag. The element of space was used because there was a background, and that it was in the BACK of the collage. I used texture by applying mod podge over the image, giving it a more glossy and glazed texture. I used the element of form while making the panther look 3D, on a flat piece of paper. What the artwork means to me is that, panthers are my favorite animal, and America is my country. I think that when people look at my artwork they will feel patriotism because of the flag, and feel serenity because of the sleeping panther.

My favorite part of my artwork is the fact that I had a storm, but the main focus was on a giant wave, not a boat. I painted over it and this is the painting that I have now. The emotions expressed are fear and sadness, because of how I wanted to convey the emotions of the people on the boat. I feel connected to the artwork because the sea and sky are scenes I’ve painted before, but the scene in particular is new. I hope viewers will feel the exhilaration, grief, and fear that boaters must feel when they are at sea.

My 2 ducks are inspired by how John Nieto was a Native American artist and how he colored his art vividly and brightly colored. I used oil pastel to color it in and a reference image from online for the outline. I have a connection with the artwork because me and my family always go duck hunting together and it’s really fun. I think viewers will feel the freedom a duck has, to fly or waddle to far away places, and the carefreeness of the animals in the vibrant colors. I worked on my ownership goal for this by managing my time well so as to be able to help others and feel like I did this to the best of my ability.
