Goal for Respect: My goal for respect is to continue to practice my active listening skills, through listening for understanding, with my eyes and ears while teachers are talking or classmates are presenting.

This is what I commit to doing that will contribute to me accomplishing my goal for Respect...
I will commit to being careful about choosing a seat in which I may be tempted to talk with others.I will develop a habit of checking in with myself to make sure I am present.I will advocate for myself by raising my hand if I was spacing out, to make sure I understood what the instructions were.
Others will know I'm actually doing it when they see me...
Others will know that I am actually accomplishing my goal because I will be quiet and focussed on whomever is speaking. They will see that I have my eyes on the speaker. They will also notice that I am not distracting my peers and the learning environment at inappropriate times. Finally, they will notice a Quieter Learning Environment.

The difference these actions will make is:
I will increase my learning. I will learn when it is cool to chat with friends and when to stay focussed on the speaker. Others will be able to increase their learning due to less distractions. I may have more free time if I am using my time more wisely.
