Introduction

The rapid pace of changes in special education law has made it difficult to maintain a static manual of special education procedures and best practices. To address this difficulty, our procedure manual and supporting resources were moved to a Google Folder (i.e., Supported Education Resources) during the 2017-2018 school year. The Google Suite allowed instant access to our materials, even while they were in the process of being updated. This website was designed to make our resources even more accessible through search function, expanded topic coverage, collaboration, etc.

How to use this website

• 1. In the top right corner of every page is a magnifying glass icon that allows for searches within the site. You can query for information and forms by name or topic area (common special education questions are updated regularly in the Sped FAQs).  When searching for frequently asked questions, search using a keyword instead of a question (e.g., 'eligibility' instead of 'what is required for an eligibility meeting?'

  2. The Principal's Corner is organized by topics of interest for administrators. It may also be helpful for new special education teachers. Links to forms and resources are provided for nearly all areas of special education process and each page includes common questions designed to unpack the spirit of laws, processes, and procedures. 

  3. Sped Resources was designed to provide easy access to resources, forms, and other information of special interest to case managers, special educators, and others involved in special education processes. 

  4. At the bottom of each page are links to provide site feedback and access the Supported Ed. Folder
