Sample Introductions (non-narrative)

Describe a childhood friend whom you will always remember and give reasons why.

1) Starting with a general statement

Someone who is influential will tend to leave a huge impact in our life. When we are young, our minds are impressionable. We may be easily swayed by the people around us. I have to admit that I was once a naughty boy back when I was in primary school. My childhood friend, Wayne, had impacted me a lot. I will now share with you why I am so grateful to him.

Liang Zheng

2) Starting with a question

Have you ever lost faith in your childhood friend? Well, I have. People say that a childhood friend is one whom you can share secrets with. The person was Jack. He was a supportive and trusted friend. We were the best of friends both in school and outside school. The reason for me losing faith in him was because of his betrayal. Do allow me to elaborate more on this.

Wei Jie

Do you still keep in touch with your childhood friend? It is definitely a 'Yes' for me. I have a childhood friend whom I always keep in touch with even though she lives far away. Her name is Jasmine. She is worth remembering because of her bubbly personality, honesty and loyalty.
