First Day instructions

Start of School 2025 - Important Information for Students and Parents

As you start your secondary school journey with us, please note the following information to ensure that you are well prepared for the first day of school. 

Reporting Time and Venue on 2 January 2025, Thursday.

Students are expected to be seated and be ready for morning assembly by 7.30 am in the Multi Purpose Hall (MPH). Students are to bring a book for the reading programme that will be held from 7.30 am to 7.40 am daily.

Singing of the National Anthem starts at 7.40 am daily in the Multi Purpose Hall (MPH). 

To ensure a safe learning environment for the students, only students are allowed in the school compound. 

Instructions for First Day of School/Secondary One Orientation

The attire for the first day of school will be the MJR PE attire with white shoes and white socks.

Students are required to:

• be properly groomed (shirts tucked in, neat haircut, and natural hair colour)

• bring along an English Language story book

• bring along a water bottle

School Smart Cards (SSC)/EZ-link Card

While Secondary One Students are waiting for their Secondary level SSCs to be ready, they can continue to use their Primary level SSCs for concessionary travel till end Apr 2025. Students can still purchase the Bus Concession Pass (BCP) using their Primary level SSCs but they would need to purchase the BCP for Secondary School students.
