Q: When will my child/ward get to choose their CCA?
A: Students will get to try out the various CCA groups during CCA Experience Week (13 to 23 Jan 2025). This provides opportunities for students to experience different CCAs to explore their passion for learning before choosing the CCA of their choice. Q: When will parents/guardians get to meet the Form Teachers?
A: The school will be organising a Meet-the-School Session in on 11 Jan 2025 (Sat), 9.00am - 12.00pm where you will get to meet your child's Form Teachers, School Leaders, and Key Personnel. More details of the meeting will be provided when school starts.
Q: Is the Secondary One Orientation an overnight camp?
A: No. Secondary One Orientation will be a 4-day programme during school hours. You may refer to the 'Secondary One Orientation (SOO)' page for more information.
Q: Will there be a parents' WhatsApp group/class dojo for parents to receive updates on homework?
A: No. We want to encourage our students to take ownership and responsibility for their own learning. Students are required to monitor and keep track of their own assignments and deadlines. To assist them in this effort, each student will be given a student handbook for recording of homework. Additionally, each classroom is furnished with a homework board for the respective subject teachers to note down deadlines for homework as well as upcoming tests.
Q: Why is my child's class on Parent's Gateway different from that shown on this website?
A: The information from this website is the finalised class posting. Your child's class on Parent's Gateway will be updated accordingly after the end of the Sec 1 Registration period.
Q: Can my child modify his/her school uniform?
A: If alterations to the uniform are necessary, please refer to the student handbook for details and guidelines that the school uniform should adhere to.
Q: Can my child/ward still use the Primary level School Smart Card (SSC)/EZ-link card? When will my child/ward get the Secondary level SSC/EZ-link card?
A: While the Secondary One Students are waiting for their Secondary level SSCs to be ready, they can continue to use their Primary level SSCs for concessionary travel till end Apr 2025. Students can still purchase the Bus Concession Pass (BCP) using their Primary level SSCs but they would need to purchase the BCP for Secondary School students.
Q: Can we go to the vendor directly to buy the uniform and books?
A: The school uniform and textbooks may be purchased online or on-site in school.

Q: Must we buy from the vendor/can we buy the books from external bookstores?
A: You are strongly encouraged to buy from our school vendor to ensure the correct edition and title of the textbooks.
Q: When must we have the books ready?
A: Lessons materials should be ready by 8th January as classes will start then.
Q: Can students wear their Primary School Uniform during the first week?
A: Students can wear their primary school uniform to school if the MJR uniform in their size is out of stock.
Q: Are parents allowed to come into the school on the first day of school?
A: To ensure a safe learning environment for the students, only students from Manjusri Secondary School would be allowed into the school compound.
