Since 2023, there have been no Mid-year examinations for all students.
With the removal of Mid-year examinations, we hope to free up time and space for students to deepen their learning and develop holistically. This will also give students time to adjust to new subjects and expectations during transition years.
Secondary One students will sit for Weighted Assessments (WA) in Terms 1, 2 and 3; and End-of-year examinations in Term 4. These summative assessments serve as checkpoints to inform students, teachers and parents on the students’ learning progress in various subjects.
To help students learn better, teachers will also give students feedback through formative assessments such as homework, quizzes, projects, class activities and online learning.
