The IGP provides a benchmark for the minimum grades required to gain entry into specific courses at local universities. It reflects the 10th and 90th percentile grades of students admitted in the previous year and is issued annually by the local universities. The grade profiles refer to grades scored by Singapore-Cambridge A-Level applicants in their 3 H2 and 1 H1 subjects.Â
For example if the 10th percentile grade profile is BCC/B (3H2/1H1), it means that 90% of the applicants offered places scored above BCC/B.
If the 90th percentile grade is AAA/B, it means 10% of the successful applicants scored above AAA/B.
IGPs are a useful guide for parents and students to assess the likelihood of admission based on academic performance. However, do note that the IGP is not a fixed cut-off but a reference point; do consider applying if you are passionate and have a holistic overall profile. Do also note that certain courses may have certain pre-requisites.
