NUS is a comprehensive university with 16 faculties and schools across three campuses. NTU is a comprehensive and research-intensive university with a strong focus on engineering, science and technology. SUTD is a specialised and research-intensive university, with a multi-disciplinary human-centric and design-focused curriculum. SUTD offers unique degree programmes in fields such as architecture and engineering, as well as the world’s first design and artificial intelligence programme. These programmes equip students with the skills needed to create products, systems and services that can address complex real-world challenges confronting the world today.
Grounded in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), SUTD's hands-on curriculum broadens exposure to the liberal arts, humanities and social sciences with the purpose of training critical thinkers, and incorporates elements of entrepreneurship, management and design thinking. The first 3 semesters are taught in a distinctive “cohort-based classroom” format, where students study foundational subjects and learn collaboratively in small group cohorts of about 50 students.

SUSS provides an applied education in the social sciences for both fresh school leavers and adult learners, as well as in disciplines that have a strong impact on human and community development. It offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programmes across 5 schools. The university’s diverse student profile allows fresh school leavers to take classes alongside part-time adult students with work experience, which provides a rich and unique learning experience.
SUSS' e-learning facilities and modular programme structure also enable students to more flexibly balance pursuing a university education with other commitments. SIT pioneered the applied degree pathway in Singapore, focusing on science and technology. It offers its own applied degree, and degree programmes offered in partnership with reputable overseas universities — all of which strongly emphasise practice-oriented learning and connection with industry.
The Integrated Work Study Programme is a distinctive feature of SIT degree programmes. During the course of their studies, students can undertake up to 12 months of relevant work to develop deep specialised skills in their chosen field.
