In Princess Elizabeth Primary School, this Performing Arts CCA begun as a Bugle and Fife Band, before moving on to form a Semi-Brass Band in 1977.
All members of the PEPS Band undergo a formal music education. Band members commit to practices up to twice a week, exploring the world of music-making with our knowledgeable band conductors. Besides the technical aspects of instrument playing, equally vital is the understanding and appreciation of teamwork and perseverance, as everyone is responsible for their own learning.
With the aim of developing our members’ love for the arts, they have opportunities to showcase their skills during school events and public performances if situation permits. Members also have band exchanges with other primary and secondary school bands, allowing them to build friendship and deepen their musical knowledge and skills with other students who love music as well.
In the last SYF Central Judging for Primary School Bands, our school band managed to achieve ‘Accomplishment’ through everyone’s dedication and hard work.
The band is glad that some of our members, upon graduation from primary school, have continued their pursuit in musical excellence by joining band in secondary school. These students devote some of their free time by coming back to help out in one way or another by performing together with our current band members for some performances.
