ASPIRE Champions of Character
ASPIRE Champions of Character
Purpose
At Princess Elizabeth Primary School (PEPS), students are at the heart of our efforts in developing their character.
CCA@PEPS aims to develop them to be Champions of Character instilled with School ASPIRE values to lead and serve through their interests and talents.
We believe:
A student who champions character can inspire a team,
A team that champions character can elevate a CCA,
A CCA that champions character can transform a community.
As ASPIRE Champions of Character, students:
discover their interests and talents while developing values and competencies that will prepare them for a rapidly changing world.
lead and promote friendships among peers from diverse backgrounds as they learn, play and grow together.
foster social integration and deepens their sense of belonging, commitment and responsibility to our school community.
Learning Outcomes
Students will
Develop a growth mindset
Cultivate a passion for helping peers in need
Lead initiatives to foster inclusion within the school community
All P3 to P6 students should participate in one CCA. Students must stay in the CCA for the whole academic year.
Students cannot change or terminate their participation in their CCA on their own accord. Requests for CCA changes must be formally presented to the Head of Department for CCA, accompanied by a Parent's Letter or email explaining the reasons for the requested change. The HOD CCA and the respective CCA Teachers-In-Charge will assess each request individually.
Primary 3 students will have the chance to choose three preferred CCAs from the school's CCA options. However, each student will ultimately be assigned only one CCA. If a student is not granted their preferred CCA, the school will assign an alternative CCA to that student.
CCA Day for all students is scheduled for Tuesdays. When necessary, extra practice sessions will be held on Fridays, for selected students. Parents will receive consent forms via Parents Gateway from the respective CCA teachers if their children are chosen. Both Tuesday and Friday CCAs will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm. Any adjustments will be communicated to parents by the respective CCA teachers-in-charge.
Consistent attendance in CCA is a requirement for all students. If a student is unable to attend a CCA session, a medical certificate or a parental excuse letter is necessary. In cases of emergency, parents can also inform the CCA Teacher-In-Charge through the General Office at 65655111.
In cases of truancy from the CCA, a Letter of Warning will be issued by the HOD CCA. Parents will be notifed, and disciplinary actions will be taken against the student.
Students are expected to wear appropriate attire during their CCA sessions. They should wear their school uniform unless they have PE or CCA (only on Tuesdays) scheduled for that day.
Students with school bus transport arrangements will be released at 4 pm to board the bus home. Those attending the school-based student care center will be dismissed accordingly. If there are any changes to your child's dismissal arrangement, kindly notify your child's CCA teacher.
