Buses generally run from 5:30 AM to 12:30 AM.
Night buses (indicated by an "N") operate on limited routes.
2. Trams
Florence currently has two tram lines (T1 and T2), with plans to expand.
Tram T1: Connects Villa Costanza (Park & Ride) to Careggi Hospital via the city center.
Tram T2: Runs from Florence Airport to the city center (Piazza dell’Unità Italiana near Santa Maria Novella).
Trams operate from 5:00 AM to midnight (later on weekends).
3. Tickets
Tickets are valid on both buses and trams.
Types of Tickets:
Single ticket: €1.70, valid for 90 minutes.
Day pass: €5, unlimited rides for 24 hours.
Multiday passes are also available for longer stays.
Where to Buy Tickets:
ATAF kiosks, newsstands, tobacco shops (look for the "T" sign), or vending machines at tram stops.
Via the ATAF app (purchase and validate directly on your phone).
Validation:
Always validate your ticket in the onboard machines (buses) or at tram stops. Fines are issued for unvalidated tickets.
4. Tips for Using Public Transport
Plan your route using apps like Google Maps or Moovit, which provide live bus and tram schedules.
Buses can get crowded during peak hours, so plan accordingly.
Be aware of pickpockets, especially on crowded routes.
Taxis in Florence
Unlike many cities, taxis in Florence cannot be hailed on the street. They must be called in advance or taken from designated taxi ranks.
1. How to Get a Taxi

Major taxi stands are located at Santa Maria Novella Station, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Santa Croce, and Piazza San Marco.
Call for a Taxi:

3. Tips for Using Taxis
Taxis only accept cash or cards if the driver has a card reader (confirm before starting the ride).
