Students are encouraged to explore the wide range of subjects available and take the time to carefully read through each subject descriptor. Subject choices should reflect personal interests and future goals, rather than a focus on ATAR scaling for university entry.
When submitting preferences, students should list their most preferred subject first and continue ranking all subjects in order of priority. The final subject offerings at the College are shaped by the preferences submitted by students.
Year 9 Students
As part of the transition into Year 10, students are required to select a learning pathway. The available options include:
Straight Year 10
Year 10 including French
Year 10 with a VCE subject (by application)
Year 10 with an Offsite VET program (by application)
All Year 10 students will study core subjects: English, Mathematics, Religious Education, and Physical Education. In addition, they will select up to six semester-based elective subjects. These electives must include at least one Science and one Humanities subject.
Year 10 Students
Students entering Year 11 must choose five subjects, in addition to Religious Education. These five subjects will continue through into Year 12, forming the basis of their VCE program.
